Message from the President of Council of Gurdwaras South East.

Dear reader and participant in the tournament

It gives me a great pleasure to welcome you on behalf of the members of the Sangat of all Gurdwaras of South East London and Management Committee of the Council of Gurdwaras South East, to this website on the occasion of this 6th sports tournament being organised by the members of United Khalsa Sports Academy (UKSA). This UKSA was set up some six years ago to help and support the children and youngsters of all local communities in the field of various sports activities. I am very pleased to know that during this short period some of the youngsters trained by the UKSA have already made their names not only at National Level but also at international level by having them been nominated for Olympics.  It will be a matter of pride for the Sikh community to see our youngsters taking part at this level.

The UKSA organise sports tournaments at High level each year since its formation and they have held tournaments at Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Chigwell and Redbridge Sports Centre.

I am also delighted to say that the Council of Gurdwaras South East and the Business Community of South East London who have supported these sports tournaments earlier organised by RSSL and now UKSA both morally and financially, without their full support it would not have been possible. I would like to thank them all wholeheartedly for their moral support and financial contributions.

This year like previous years the tournament includes sports like Hockey, Football, Golf and various other activities the details of which have been given in their information literature and website, www.khalsasports.com

I would request you all to come to the above venues with your families  on 7th and 8th August 2010 and enjoy with your children and youngsters taking part in the sports and  other activities.
I, on behalf all the members of the Council of Gurdwaras South East, would like to congratulate the members of UKSA for organising these events and wish them every success this year and in future.

I would also like to take an opportunity to thank the Sangat and Management Committee members of the Council of Gurdwaras South East for their cooperation and contributions.

Finally, I would also like to convey my sincere thanks and greatly appreciate the cooperation extended by Mr. Amarjit Singh Toor, the Principal of Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College for his and his staff extremely valuable cooperation and providing all the facilities at the college, without his support and cooperation these tournaments would not have been possible. I request Mr. Amarjit Singh Toor to convey our thanks to his staff for their cooperation

With best wishes
